Morning Pick Me Upper

IMG_0635

When my husband requested that we get one of those flat tv mounts for our TV, I relented on one condition – that he allow me to buy the caramel flavor syrup at Starbucks. It seems like an unfair deal, I know. But I am addicted to macchiatos and with this syrup, I can now have a dupe macchiato at home (and save us more money). I do not use any sugar in my coffee just this syrup and its bittersweet taste is my undoing every morning. Rather, it is my pick-me-upper! It seriously lets me start my day right!

Promise Rings

When I was younger, I knew of engagement rings and wedding rings but lately there is a trend among the youth (and not-so-young) about promise rings. When you are in a relationship and it’s too early to get engaged (or perhaps it is too serious and too early to talk about it yet), most couple give each promise rings and the promise ring finger is the left hand on the fourth finger. It is the same finger the one places a wedding ring on when getting married.

You can say it is a symbol of love and commitment; and a wish that their love lasts for a very long time. Here are some examples of promise rings:

Which one would you choose?

Sweet Treats Attack: Mrs. Field Cookies

If there is one weakness I am absolutely willing NOT to give up (yet), it would be my love for sweets. I would not die of a heart attack or high blood pressure because of too much fats or stress and need air ambulance service; I would most certainly die of diabetes and its complications if I do not control my sweet cravings!

Take for example this box of Mrs. Fields cookies. If I remember it correctly, this box contains 6-8 pieces of big cookies. And I can finish them all while working in one night! I certainly need Sweet Treats Intervention 101!

Never Say Never.

And I am not talking about Justin Bieber’s documentary movie. :)

Remember when I said that I will never get insurance because I do not believe in it? Well, I am biting my own words as we just signed up (the husband and I) last summer. It’s the most basic premium plan, one that we can afford at the moment.

We shelled more than the usual amount of money for this plan and we need to keep this up for at least five years so we can safely assume a ROI (return of investment). At least we have one investment under our names (well, two because we have one each). We pray that a third investment can be done before the year ends.
