One of the things I have been moping around here is the fact that we don’t have TV signal in our house NOR cable. So yes, I feel so disconnected. Thankfully we have internet and I have my own laptop so I can escape, in a way.
But I dont want to get cable anymore, I hope we get Direct TV. Im not a huge fan of sports but it’s like getting a premium NFL Sunday Ticket when you sign up for it – It’s all about HD! High Definition is the one that sold me. While many actually sign up for it for movies, men sign up for it so they can get NFL TV. It is not just that with the NFL TV Package, you get the Direct TV NFL Sunday Ticket. With the DirectTV NFL Sunday Ticket, you can catch up to 200 NFL games per season - that means up to 14 NFL games each and every Sunday!
That is the ultimate offer for sportsfans!

Yes, it is all about the TV and movies today
I finally got around to being introduced (and liking) The Top Chef (Yes, after four seasons!!). The reason? Well, not exactly food but the yummy Sam Talbot! He was a fan favorite on Season 2, and I can definitely relate why! He really isnt my type but the way he carries himself and the way he cooks — it is definitely attractive. He is just another typical chef (like the ones you dont normally notice - Daniel Neumeister or Jack Black or John Doe), but he was really a fan favorite - and definitely so!!
He returned to Top Chef for a special “Four Star All Stars” episode along with Elia Aboumrad, Marcel Vigneron, and Ilan Hall. They were defeated by Season 1 Stars though. They were still fan favorites.
And according to Wikipedia, Talbot has since opened up a restaurant called The Surf Lodge.

Props goes to the first one who can guess what movie that was from.
Kung Fu Panda!! Can you tell this weekend was Disney Movies’ Weekend?
I cant help but relate to Po, who was trained by the Master Shifu, by using food as a reward. His obesity and clumsiness is something I can relate to as well, I just hope I can have as much humor as him to laugh at myself. And while I do not dream of seeing myself in Harley Davidson motorcycle clothing, I dream that in time, Id finally be comfortable living in my own skin (and not be obese).
Back to the secret ingredient, I always love how Disney movies have incorporated morals in their stories. In this movie, they have subtly enforced the lesson to believe in oneself.
I like how Po’s father, goose father Mr. Ping, claimed to have a secret ingredient for his noodles but in the end disclosed that there is really no secret ingredient - but if one is to believe that there is something special, he will believe that thing is really special.
The key is really to believe!

That is what France’s recently deceased top chef, Auguste Gusteau, has always said.
But then, I saw it in a movie where a street rat was able to cook!
I finally saw the movie Ratatouille last weekend. While I honestly cringed at the thought of eating food made by a rat, the whole concept of the movie was novel and clearly satisfying. My kids loved watching the movie.
I made it a point to find meanings of names of the French terms said in the movie (classifications of chefs, some French terms, etc) so that I can better understand things - and for additional knowledge.
Back to the tag line: Anyone can cook.
I hope it holds true for me, but as Chef Auguste Gusteau has said, it is the heart that holds true for everything else.
And cooking is not in my heart as of the moment
