Matthew is an achiever again in school (got his report card last Saturday) and his Dad treated him out. He chose to eat at Teriyaki Boy and ordered his favorites wafu steak (masakit sa bulsa. LOL). Martha surprisingly ate this kiddie meal! I think she got attracted to the packagin – and she ate half of the chicken with rice (it was sweet) and gave the tempura to her Kuya. The chocolate pudding is mine
Ang sarap iuwi ng plate and tray. Inalok ni Edil bilhin actually. Enjoy na enjoy si Martha
Now, this is a genius idea better than the dollar store franchise!
I saw this over at Chuvaness’ blog and my eyes grew wide when I saw the shop was “Soap Factory”
Now this will be a great home decor and a nice motivation to help my kids scrub their dirtied bodies longer. My kids are big lovers of donuts so the variety of soap will be a sure hit in our house.

I know there is a scientific explanation for my crazy cravings. (Nope, not pregnant). Women experience cravings before the red flag but I experience it AFTER. I suppose it has to do with the depletion of progesterone? LOL.
My cravings are very ordinary but since we live in the boonies its hard for me to satisfy them. It’s good news that there is now a mall in Tagaytay so there will be a mall for us just 15 minutes away. LOL. Yay, civilization here we come!
I crave:
1. Conti’s Mango Bravo
2. Red Ribbon’s Mango Pie
3. Lord Stow’s Egg Tart
4. Waffles from the one of the stops at CliffHouse.
5. Anything Sonya’s
6. Coffee, cake and a good book without interruption for a good solid three hours, please God.
What are your cravings?

Last Sunday my sister treated us out to Starbucks and I was finally able to drink coffee again. My cousin ordered the Oreo cheesecake you see on the picture on your right. I didn’t like it. There are better cakes from other coffee shops, honestly. Come to think of there are better coffee. But Starbucks is Starbucks. I love their waffles though.
I better stop writing about food. It’s making me eat non-stop!
Ice Cream that is actually a Starbucks Frap
She actually thought it was ice cream and I let her taste it but somehow she sipped the coffee at the bottom and didnt stop sipping until she finished half of the Mocha Frap grande her Dad ordered.
I didn’t give her mine as it was stronger.
Anyway, we would need to make one of our orders cream-based next time.

These are what we ate during the Twitter Party.
I really should have another category for food fests already. I seem to be writing about it all the time
I will wait for Alpha’s pictures before I post my review (ehem ehem) but I was at the table all the time – so that goes to show I enjoyed the food very much (pot roast and fruit salad, I love yooooooo :D)
CCME Food Delivery and Catering
EMBOTIDO GRANDE (1 ft. x2 ½" x 3 ½" )
PORK ROAST SLICES with mashed Potatoes
PORK BARBECUE 35 to 40 Sticks, 1 gallon tray
ROAST CHICKEN ( 2s ) Whole chicken ( 1 Kg. Each )
CHICKEN WITH GREEN PEAS & QUAIL EGGS (2 kls. chicken) with thick white sauce;
BEEF CALDERETA (2 kls. beef), thick spicy sauce;
SPAGHETTI ( 1 Gallon tray ) Meaty and cheesy
FRUIT SALAD (net wt. 2.0 kg.) special and creamy with peaches, grapes and lychees.
Im going to be eating at another foodfest later.
So Im just munching on cheese and coke for now
Im trying to limit our intake of pork to once a week (or twice) – usually when Edil is here. The kids don’t like pork too much and well, it would not do me any good if I *ate* pork. So I bought around 3kilos of chicken last Saturday to be made into different meals to last us the whole week.
The question is: What to do with the chicken?
So far here is my list: Afritada (Martha really really loves this, can eat it everyday), Chicken with Pineapple, Quail Eggs and Milk (What’s this name?), and ____________.
I dont want another tinola, nilaga in the week so I was looking for chicken recipes at Glo’s EZRecipe site. I am very curious about the Green Thai Coconut Curry Chicken Wraps but Im sure my kids wont eat those.
So besides fried chicken and soup (prikaknorr!), what would be the best option for kid-friendly CHICKEN meals?

I have never tasted such delish Chicken Chinese Salad in my whole life.
We had:
Callos, Kofta (I love these), Pasta, Beef Stir Fry Noodles, Chicken Chinese Salad and gelatin for desert.

And I never got to take a picture of all the superb food.
Thanks to Ate Sally for cooking!

If ever I actually will myself to cook (if Im not busy with blogging or scrapping or picking up toys and stuff), the usual fare is hotdogs and scrambled eggs. Sometimes the eggs are sunny side up. Sometimes the hotdogs are replaced by bologna sausages but there must always be rice. My son wants rice. My husband doesnt want anything but viand with rice. He cannot function without it!
Well, as for me, I can function with a PBJ sandwich and iced tea the whole morning – I eat a ton during lunch though!

This is the usual baon or snack of Matthew when he goes to school. He needs to have lunch and snacks with him as his class is almost the whole day already. Sometimes I ask him what he wants (and believe me he will just choose one of the three) but most of the times I tell him to eat more at school she he can have more energy to last the day.
If he wants a sandwich, it’s either ham, hotdogs or Cheez Whiz triple decker.

That is what was beside my laptop one evening while I was working. I am trying (read: trying) to minimize soda but cant completely drink water with some spice/sweetness to it so I alternate between water, juice, water…well, you see there, Yakult.
But then it gets so sweet I need a salty one to balance my tongue tastes. So spicy mani there is (I have stock). Hmm, maybe it is one of the reasons I break out every now and then, just a pimple or two. Good thing I dont need acne treatments yet.
And if you are asking if my tummy didnt grumble after, no it didnt

Thank you Koko Krunch.
Thank you for giving me a reason to buy you in tons – because you are the only sweet chocolate that is nutritious enough (you are a cereal right?) for my kids to eat at 9AM when I am too lazy to cook something decent and I need to work.
Thank you for keeping them busy while watching TV. If I could, Id buy boxes and packets of you. But Honey Stars is a close second. If ever I get a card with a high credit card limit, then I can put you in my cart every grocery week instead of every other week

Yes, I am quite partial to peanut butter – namely, the Lady’s Choice brand. Make it a “Crispy” and I can eat it with Gardenia Classic Bread everyday. This is my pangtawid gutom every time. Martha seems to have gotten her liking of it from me, except she wants to it by the spoon (the way she eats butter alone. Yes, she loves making papak butter, I cannot stop her from doing it. I can only prevent it so butter is securely hidden in the fridge every time!).
If there is a drug rehab for peanut butter, ketchup and Coke, Id be in those drug rehabilitation centers already!

Yep, went to another one today.
My aunt and cousin (with her American, yes, all-white husband) came here for a vacation and we had a get together.
Food is overflowing of course
We had kaldereta, chicken pastille, lumpiang shanghai, lasagna (OMG this one was sooooo yummy!!), cake and ice cream (need weight loss pills please! LOL).
Of course I had to mention the cake - it was Red Velvet and Mango Cream Crunch (I forgot the name) from Red Ribbon.
Stuffed I tell you.

It’s Friday once again and it’s time for me to plan another menu for next week. I obviously have trying domesticated skills so cooking a variety of dishes is so hard for me. Especially since the ones I feed five times a week are kids - they have to be nice to look at, palatable but still nutritious.
Then at weekends I need to exert more effort at planning because the husband comes home. He doesnt want to eat the same food twice in a row so I dont have a lot of options.
I need to a grocery list - Let me look around the house first.

Finally! After how many months of maintaining this blog, I can finally say I’ve cooked
Yes, I did! I just finished cooking so I cant share any pictures yet. I’ve yet to “present” it but it’s very simple - our version of spaghetti
Im proud of myself on this one because I cooked it all by myself, and washed the dishes all by myself too - no help
Ill share the recipe later with pictures
Glo would be proud of me, hahaha!

Im in a bind. I never knew meal planning for THREE people will be this hard. Take note the three people consists of one adult (ME), a grade schooler (age 7 - Matthew) and a toddler (age 2 - Martha). Clearly, we require very different calorie intake and food types.
My kids are not really big eaters but they have voracious appetites - they eat all the time, but are like goats, they graze a lot
So meal planning is hard. I want to make sure we maximize our food intake health-wise but do not spoil food (Last week, we always had some rice spoiled. Isat kalahating gatang lang un ha ~ for the whole day!)
The tricky part here is, what to cook for all of us? I love eggplants and veggies but the kids are not that enthusiastic on this. Martha loves tomato-based dishes (afritada and menudo) while Matthew loves anything with soup (sinigang, tinola, crab and corn). Since we have cut back so much on grocery I can now afford to get some pork twice or thrice a week for us.
Im going to play around a little this week and test the waters if this will work for us.
Monday: Menudo
Tuesday: Chicken Sopas, Porksteak
Wednesday: LEFTOVERS day (Eat what was leftover food from the previous days), have Fried Chicken on hand for backup
Thursday: Lumpiang Shanghai, Crab and Corn Soup
Friday: Carry over food from Thursday, Porkchop (Leftover from Porksteak)
Let us see if I can get pictures of the food we have, our dining area is a bit dim I would need compact flash for the SLR.

We are family of breadlovers. Actually, I’m a bread convert. It’s my husband who loves to eat bread (instead of chips) for breakfast or for snacks. Matthew inherited that from his Dad and would eat bread all day.
Actually, when Edil was a kid, my mother-in-law told me he wouldnt eat rice at all. He would eat bread all the time. When she asked him why, he said he doesnt want to make his poo so icky so he would rather eat bread! Times have changed obviously because Edil can eat three plates of rice and still not be full
Back to bread, Im having a hard time finding a nice bakery in my town. The closest bakery we have have rolls and pan de sal which is so grainy you’d think you are eating sand. So I hoard bread every weekend when we go out.
Matthew loves the soft ensaymadas of Julie’s Bakeshop, the soft pandesals of Gardenia and Pugon and Martha eats about anything you give to her that has “palaman” on it.
So the chips lover in me has been converted to the white side…
Yep, bread lover (wheat) here
