Things I Use All The Time
I live and breathe the internet. The sudden change is surprising considering I only got my Yahoo! e-mail address in 2003, when most already had theirs in the late 90s. Now I use it to work, entertain myself, connect with my friends, download movies, books and songs and virtually everything else – look recipes, pay bank bills and check out air flight travel schedules.
When I plan something complicated and I need a flowchart, FreeMind is a great tool which helps me a lot. It is just clearer for me to see everything else laid out like a flowchart. This goes way up high in productivity tools I use. It allows you to create a mind map to brainstorm ideas, write essays and get things done! This Java software is available to you for free and was listed in 2009 as a Community Choice Award Finalist for its usability.
I am on YouTube all the time too since we don’t have DVR and I need to check out American Idol performances the day it airs (I am always out, due to timezone differences). I use You Tube Downloader to download videos I particularly love and would like to play all the time. I sometimes use GIMP on computers which do not have Adobe Photoshop installed, GnuCash to do some accounting, and Handbrake to convert multimedia files for my iPhone!
