How to Take Control of Acne

We all have it, occasional pimples and blackheads/whiteheads. Acne is a different problem altogether though so one should invest on the best acne face wash, have a good dermatologist and follow these tips:

1. Wash less.

It’s an common misconception that people get acne because they do not keep their skin clean. The fact is, it’s much more common for people who have this problem to wash too much than it is for them to wash too little. Washing the skin too often actually dries out the skin-and that is not a good thing.

2. Moisturize, even if you have oily skin.

After you do wash you skin, use a moisturizer to lock moisture into your skin to keep your complexion even and your pores open.

3. Don’t be afraid to peel.

4. Don’t bother with benzoyl peroxide.

5. Disinfect with tea tree oil and calendula.

6. Zap zits the minute you see them getting started.

And what should you use for your zit zapper? Keep a 10% to 15% tea tree oil cream on hand to treat any pimples that make break out on your skin. Tea tree oil will make them less noticeable in as little as an hour or two, and will usually clear them up in a couple of days or less.

7. Finally, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

You have no doubt heard the often-repeated advice to drink eight glasses of water a day. Well, actually you don’t need eight glasses of water a day, unless you live in an unusually dry or unusually hot climate. As little as five cups (1,200 ml) of water a day is enough to make a difference. That little bit of water not only will help keep your pores open and pimple-free, it will also stop sags and bags and help fill in fine lines.
