Buying a Car during these Times.
I read in Yahoo! News (Because I hardly have time to watch news on TV nor buy the everyday local newspaper) that a big car company (GM Motors I think) is trying hard to stay afloat. Maybe that is the reason why car companies these days are offering such great and irresistible deals on cars. We are sorely tempted to get one and just apply for a car loan (the husband’s job is qualified for it since they have a bank tie-up) but times are hard these days and it is best to hold on tight to our money for emergency expenses. Besides, a friend of ours told us we should not spend money when there isn’t technically any. And she is so right.
For now, we just need to be thankful that we have a vehicle to go around and that we can hope for the husband’s Fleet program to be released soon – hopefully this year! Going around where we live is hard without our own car. Public transportation is rare, always full and has time cut-offs. That would not work for us. His company gives out car incentives to employees who meet their quotas every month and have been consistently excelling – the husband has exceeded his year-end quota last year so he got a hefty bonus aside from his 13th month pay. But we are still hanging onto the promise of the car
