Skin Allergies
There are alarming cases of unexplained rashes among kids of my friends lately. Even their respective pediatricians are at a loss on which diagnosis to give – it varies between allergic reactions or skin asthma.
Being a mother myself, it can be quite worrisome to have something happen to your kid and even doctors do not know how to treat it. One of the kids are suspect to have allergies so he is recommended to an allergologist. He is hoping they would be doing blood extractions and not skin tests. The other kid was diagnosed to have skin asthma while one had atopic dermatitis. Each of the diagnosis required a total change in skin care regimen. They were ordered to buy special shampoos and soaps (even lotion to be applied before and after bathing) and were strongly urged to have a very different set of laundry routine (which includes soap) for their kids. Baby Bedding Sets were washed more than once, no harsh detergents and it needs to be the unscented ones.
I get scared just thinking about all these new unexplained diseases happening and sprouting from nowhere. I know somehow this can all be traced to the extreme climate change we are experiencing today. It breaks my heart to know that the ones most affected are the kids.
