Collectibles.

My husband is a huge hobbyist. He fleets from one hobby to another, and he collects a lot of stuff along the way. I really do not complain because I, too, am the same way. Although once I discovered digital scrapbooking, I never really got involved with any other hobby. And it is never messy – everything is just in the computer.

Before the husband collected Pokemon and Marvel stuff (and DVD movies), he was an avid basketball cards collector. I met him when he was 15, and he was trading cards as early as he was 13. In fact, he owned very valuable (read: expensive) stuff back then. An anecdote I want to share as well: He sold three basketball trading cards to give me a proper gift on my 18th birthday – a gold bracelet. That was how expensive the cards were.

He soon fell out of collecting basketball cards because his-then basketball idol, Anfernee Hardaway, was not getting any better with his game. But I think he will surely appreciate if I get him autographed cards of some basketball greats for Christmas. I have found some great deals at the Pittsburgh Steelers Merchandise web site. They offer various collectible stuff like autographs, trading cards, apparel, wall framed photos and figurines for the avid collector.
