Another Social Networking Site

Just when I thought Facebook will be the last of all social networking sites, Acobay comes in. I heard it through the grapevine in forums and found out they are still in beta release but I thought I’d give them a try.

What makes it different?
Although it can be branded as (another) a social networking site, Acobay is entirely different. Their social networking concept is unique – in a sense that, people can relate more than being friends, relatives, co-workers and online friends. One can connect through interests, hobbies, material possessions and more.

You register at their site, choose a username and fill up the “All About Me” section – it is nothing hard. From there, you can add things to your “My Stuff” section -  your cars, cameras, sports, watches, shoes, books, restaurants and from there you are automatically connected to people who have the same stuff.

What is its potential?
I see I can connect with fellow food enthusiasts and people who share the same interests as me. As connections are founded on similar interests, I don’t see the site “fading out of the trend” as compared with other social sites. The interests will be there and people will be really connected. Check out my profile and my stuff!
