Anyone can cook.

That is what France’s recently deceased top chef, Auguste Gusteau, has always said.

But then, I saw it in a movie where a street rat was able to cook!

I finally saw the movie Ratatouille last weekend. While I honestly cringed at the thought of eating food made by a rat, the whole concept of the movie was novel and clearly satisfying. My kids loved watching the movie.

I made it a point to find meanings of names of the French terms said in the movie (classifications of chefs, some French terms, etc) so that I can better understand things – and for additional knowledge.

Back to the tag line: Anyone can cook.
I hope it holds true for me, but as Chef Auguste Gusteau has said, it is the heart that holds true for everything else.

And cooking is not in my heart as of the moment :)
